We All Need Reminders!
In life, there are small, defining moments that always point us towards God. It's so important we position ourselves to have these moments whether it's church services, youth services, or times set aside for us to hear from God. These moments are truly what have kept my faith strong and reminded me of God's love for me.
Recently, our youth group attended an annual youth conference hosted by Resurrection Life Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. As always, Nick and Mandy Pidek led worship and the presence of God was so strong. Nick began talking about the faithfulness of God and how it's part of God's character. He is faithful in what He says. God has a purpose and an intention for why you are where you are. It's not always an accident that you are in the place you are at but sometimes it's God's positioning you to become who He has called you to be.
The song I attached below is called, "Faithful to the End" by Bethel. During this youth service, they began to sing this song. The following lyrics spoke to me exactly where I was in my life.
"There wasn't a day That You weren't by my side There wasn't a day That You let me fall All of my life Your love has been true All of my life I will worship You"
God has such a way of reminding us of His word and His faithfulness. I couldn't help but cry in God's presence while singing this song; not because I was sad or hurt, but because of how much I am so grateful for God's promises in my life. Sometimes, we take it for granted that God is truly there--with us, always! It's not my strength, but His. It's not my confidence, but His. It's not my joy in where I am, but it's His joy that causes my heart to stay positive. If it wasn't for God in my life, I would be depressed, insecure, angry and hurt. I would feel like I'm not normal and have it harder than others. But the truth is, I can be who I am and do what I do because of Christ in me.
Psalm 100:5 says, "God's unfailing love will continue forever and His faithfulness will continue in each generation." God will always be faithful and His love never fails--this is a promise.
Another song that ministered to me during this service was "You're Going to be Ok" by Bethel. When they sang that song, I just cried because it reminded me that there is nothing that I go through that God wouldn't be there for. God reminded me that everything is going to be ok. And sometimes, you have to go through the toughest times in order to get to the best times. Victory only comes after a struggle or a battle. Our celebrations and excitement that comes from a victory is magnified even more the bigger the struggle is. So, with God's unfailing love and His faithfulness, everything is truly going to be ok.
I want you to take this moment and listen to the song linked below. Take just a few minutes and let it be a defining moment in your life as you listen to the lyrics and let them speak to you. Moments like this are so important in our lives. Don't miss these opportunities for God to draw you closer to Him. He is calling you. He is reminding you. His love is always there!
